Exploring the Untold Bond: 'Jersey' and the Unconditional Love of Fathers

jearsy

The release Jersey of Shahid Kappor and Mrunal Thakur was a great watch with your fathers and family. The movie is a love letter from a father to his son and clearly displays the untalked and unconditional love of fathers.  The Indian cinema has spoken enough about the selfless love and care of the mothers, however, only a handful of good movies have talked about the father-son/daughter relationship. If you would want to watch more of these movies, you can consider watching movies like Yaadien, Waqt, Paa, Piku, Thappad, Wake up Sid, Apne, and Mughal-e-Azam. Oh! You just can’t beat me up in movies and investment understanding.

Coming back to Jersey, which was originally supposed to release in 2020, but got delayed due to the COVID-19 outbreak, is a story of a failed cricketer who never got a chance to be a part of the Indian National Cricket Team despite his magical game and talent. Protagonist Shahid Kapoor as Arjun Talwar, in his late 30s, makes a difficult choice to rejoin cricket after a gap of 10 years, at an age when the majority of the players choose to retire. He went on this risky adventure  ( due to his medical condition) to gift his 7-year-old son Kittu, a cricket lover, an original Jersey on his birthday. When Mrunal Thakur playing as Vidya, Arjun’s beloved wife, a hotel receptionist denied giving him the money for this present, and all the other attempts failed, he went back to the game in the love of his son.

I will not do this unpaid internship to reinvent the wheel by writing the script of the 3-hour movie here again. Go, watch it. It’s full of emotions, love, passion, and cricket. 5 stars to you if you manage to watch it with your father and family.

While you decide when and with whom you will watch your next movie, I would come back to reality. Jersey is a sports drama based on fiction. The movie has a happy ending with the journalist publishing the biography of the magical cricketer and sportsman in form of a bestselling book reaping millions of rupees for the family. However, the probability of the event happening in real life is very less, close to zero.

We live in a country that’s over-populated and full of passion. The streets are full of stories. And the media has limited resources to display them on the silver screen. As they always refer, “ Uncertainty is too intrinsic to disciplines that involve public and fame”, professions in sports are often very uncertain and ephemeral. There is only one Sachin Tendulkar, one M. S. Dhoni, and one Virat Kholi in the Indian National Cricket Team. They are all one in a million. Goes without saying, that you may find many Sachins and Kholis on the streets, but (a deep breath and a sigh). The talent is there. But there are many other factors to be considered as well. There is a constant *what if* feeling in sports life. There is a passion but emotions are stress and anxiety. There is luck and fate. There is a lack of opportunity. There is a lack of finance. There is a lack of training. There is performance pressure and anxiety. There are injuries. There is a time clock of life running behind when it comes to physical sports. You lose focus and sense of purpose. You have to regroup and re-calibrate your goals in accordance with the situation. And the list is long and endless. The profession demands a penance-like discipline and faith.

Discussing and analyzing the short-lived career of cricketers and other sportsmen, we have gone a lot pessimistic. So, what should be done? What are we trying to conclude? Are we doing a role-play with the gossip-queen-unemployed-aunty who knows nothing sane of the world and wants you to be the doctor and engineer to earn respect in the society? Clearly not. We understand your passion as you do. We are not telling you to quit the game and focus on something you are not meant for or don’t enjoy doing. Instead, we want you to be living your life to the fullest for you live it only once. We want you to go wild this time and master your sport like never before.

We want to try hard and let your money work harder for you while you are busy mastering your sport. But, this time without any worries and better planning. So, you don’t have to worry about your finances and investment. And given our experience and expertise, we can help you do that in a professional way. Because time is money. Once gone, it will never come back. The sooner you start your investment journey, the better will be your future lifestyle.
